CNS Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CNSP), a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of novel treatments for primary and metastatic cancers in the brain and central nervous system, has provided an update on enrollment of its ongoing trial evaluating Berubicin for the treatment of recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (“GBM”), an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer. Berubicin is a novel anthracycline and the first anthracycline to appear to cross the blood-brain barrier. The company announced that the first patient in Europe has been enrolled in the study and has started receiving dosages. Eventually the company plans to have 68 sites opened for the ongoing potentially pivotal global trial; currently 29 clinical sites have been identified in the United States, Italy, France, Spain and Switzerland.
