Silo Pharma (OTCQB: SILO), a developmental stage biopharmaceutical company, has reported that its recent animal study evaluating topically administered ketamine reached a positive end point: using SILO’s selected formulation and partnered, patented delivery system, the study indicated reversal of allodynia and hyperalgesia. According to the announcements, the proprietary formulation reduced mechanical allodynia and hyperalgesia at both the pre-and post-dosing time points, with mechanical hyperalgesia reduced on day seven at the pre-dose time point. In short, the company reported, the results indicate that the dosing of ketamine using a patent-protected delivery system designed by Silo Pharma Zylo Therapeutics showed positive results in reducing neuropathic nerve pain in a small-animal study. “These positive results of our study show that Silo is able to successfully formulate and deliver ketamine topically at reduced dosage to achieve its endpoint of pain reduction,” said Silo Pharma CEO Eric Weisblum in the press release. “This data is extremely promising for patients suffering from fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.
