VolitionRx Limited (NYSE American: VNRX) announced a collaboration with Sysmex (TYO: 6869) to optimize Volition’s Nu.Q® NETs H3.1 assay on the Sysmex diagnostic platform. The agreement supports Volition’s strategy of licensing its proprietary Nu.Q® NETs technology to established global diagnostics companies that can leverage their disease expertise, regulatory capabilities and installed analyzer base to accelerate development and commercialization.

Volition said the collaboration has progressed beyond assay transfer and into the optimization phase for diseases associated with NETosis, a process implicated in conditions including sepsis and other acute and chronic diseases. The company believes the Nu.Q® NETs assay could provide improved diagnostic information, support patient monitoring and address a commercial opportunity with an estimated total addressable market of $3.8 billion.
